A
change of plan
Jon Lord aggravated an old ligamentous injury in his thumb at the
last of three sold out performances at Sydney Opera House. This made
playing classical piano almost impossible, but fortunately it didn't
prevent Jon from playing Hammond organ. Thus, at the three solo dates
at Melbourne, Sydney's The Basement and Coolum, Jon performed with
The Hoochie Coochie Men, an Australian outfit featuring Bob Daisley
(bass), Tim Gaze (guitar, vocals), Rob Grosser (drums, vocals) and
Jim Conway (harmonica). The musical flavour at these three shows consisted
of rock, blues and boogie. Turn it on up.
